and her sister, Elysse, who is a pianist, have performed as a musical duo at many events in their hometown, and for many nursing home patients. Their "summer concert series" at the nursing homes is their way of giving back what God has so richly given to them.
Jerry F. Sharell, singer and President of Society of Singers, Inc., a Los Angeles based non-profit organization, with roots in her hometown, asked Alexa to join him in a concert that raised money from the Arts … an honor that launched Alexa's concert career. "Jerry taught me how to have fun with not only a live audience but also a live orchestra… I learned so much from him! I loved performing with so many talented people who knew had to have fun in a professional way!"
It was quite the honor for Alexa to have been chosen to sing the National Anthem for not only Tom Ridge in 2001, but for President Bush on his recent trip to Erie, Pa. "But nothing was a (moving) as when I was asked to sing on Armistice Day on the USS Arizona in Pearl Harbor. I was very humbled to share my talent in such an awesome (place)." |
In February of 2005, Alexa had the grand opportunity to perform at Balley's on the Strip in Vegas for the National Grocers Association dinner in front of thousands of people… opening for one of her favorite entertainers, Jay Leno. The NGA had heard of her through Super Valu, a grocery company that had Alexa open their conference in the Bahamas a year prior. As luck would have it, Alexa was bumped from her flight home after opening that conference, and was then performing throughout the remainder of the time, including performing onstage with the famous Sha Na Na !
Her talent is not only limited to live vocal performances, but to her first love, the stage. From the 5th grade, she has been appearing in area high school productions, often in the lead roles. Appearing in over 11 theatre productions, Alexa aspires to be on Broadway, someday soon! Helping her someday get there, she performs with the Mini Stars in New Castle Playhouse. "the directors are amazing and I have learned how to perform with a group and have the time of my life! It is great to be in such a fun group and have my closest friends right there supporting me along the way, as I do for them!" |

Currently working with Walt Maddox, a member of the famed Marcels Group, Alexa is recording with Walt's "super M Label", and performing in venues in the Pittsburgh area. "Whatever I end up doing in life, everything will happen for a reason. I had been very lucky to have my family and new friends supporting me throughout my journey. I have always said that this is the coolest job a teenager could ever have, and I thank God for all of the opportunities that He has given me".

Alexa has a wonderful talent but also has a big heart as well. She has done many things to give back to her community. Alexa and her sister, Elysse, who plays piano, often perform together at the local nursing homes, Sharing her talent with the elderly brings happiness to an appreciative audience and has had a special place in her heart for many years.
She also sings at her church and was a part of the childrens' choir for five years. The arts and the continuing preservation of arts in her community is very important to Alexa. She was a very active performer in the Shenango Performing Arts Council and raised thousands of dollars for the local arts council. Singing has also given her the opportunity to help out at many fundraising events as well as local sporting events.
Maybe one of Alexa's most important projects she has done was in 2001 when she created a CD of Patriotic songs and donated all proceeds to |
| the Prince of Peace Center, a local agency that provides emergency support services to indigent families. She raised more than $1,000!! Community is an important part of who Alexa Magnotto is and it comes through in her voice but more importantly in her heart!! |
